Overview

SYNC3000 are range of high-performance data concentrators and communication devices ideal for to use as substation communication hub with advanced features including redundancy, and security features compliant with IEC and NERC-CIP standards. SYNC3000 supports a wide range of protocols including ICCP TASE.2 (IEC 60870-6), IEC 61850 GOOSE, DNP3.0 and can support up to 12 RS232/485 and 6 Ethernet ports. SYNC 3000 also supports IEC-61131-3 (optional) advanced logic programming.SYNC3000 data concentrators are proven solutions meant for heavy duty substation applications and have been used in various applications in power generation, transmission and distribution segments across the world. This rack mount product is ideal for multi-application integration requirement required as part of SMARTGRID standards. It has enhanced communication security features as well as IEC61850-3 level robustness. SYNC3000 can be used for niche applications including disturbance data recording, ICCP based control centre communication and many more.

SYNC3000 with up to 6 Ethernet and 12 serial ports is perfect for large scale substation data concentration and gateway applications, and supports more than 50000 data points (number of data points vary based on selected communication protocols, number of connected devices etc.). The device is rugged, IEC 61850-3 certified and thus suitable for substation environments. The device has as option for internal SATA SSD support for extended storage. SYNC 3000 can be ordered in five variants with different combination of Ethernet ports to suite varied applications.

  • Disturbance Records Collection Gateway: SYNC 3000 has the capability to collect disturbance data from IEDs supplied by multiple vendors on multiple communication protocols. It can gather, process data related to faults and disturbances at individual substations as well as convert the disturbance data to COMTRADE file format and transmit it to the control center over a secure communication channel.
  • Substation level Phasor Data Concentrator: SYNC 3000 can also be used as a substation level Phasor Data Concentrator(PDC)in the wide area monitoring solution. It can collect PMU streams on IEEE C37.118protocol,concentrate and transmit to the central/regional data centre.
